Vassilis Varvaresos
March 2012 marked Vassilis Varvaresos’ Carnegie Hall debut. He then performed at the White House for Barrack Obama.
Vassilis Varvaresos was named "Most Promising Young Greek Artist" from the Critics’ Association of Greece. He’s also the 1st Prize winner of the Maria Chairogiorgou-Sigara 3rd International Piano Competition.
Winner of the First Prize in the Young Concert Artists International Auditions at the age of 14, his debuts in New York and Washington were acclaimed. The Washington Post called him a “Young Master on the Rise.”Varvaresos made his New York orchestra debut in 2007 at Lincoln Center. In October 2010 he played in honor of the Patriarch. He was one of the soloists with the Athens State Symphony Orchestra, on the occasion of the 2008 Bejing Olympics. He has performed in virtually all of the United States, has written music for ten films, and his book was awarded the Scholastic Distinction Award at the Juilliard School, from which he holds a BM and a MM and Doctorate. He studied with Jerome Lowenthal, Yoheved Kaplinsky and Robert MacDonald. Currently residing in Paris, Varvaresos studies with Michel Dalberto.
