Theodora Panagopoulou

Theodora Panagopoulou composed mainly acoustic works for varied-size ensembles at the early stages of her music career, but recently engaged with music composition through electronic means.

She has studied piano, composition, and Byzantine music, in Greece and the UK. Co-founder of Spiza, she has worked extensively with Tim Ward and Sofia Kamayianni in collaborative projects, such as “Lovely Echoes” (Athens, Greece, 2012-2015), “Periphery as Center/Politics of Loneliness” (Kastellorizo island, 2012), “3x3” (Athens – USA, 2009), “Around and About the Soundscape” (Athens – Patras, Greece, 2007), “Storytelling Project” (Patras, 2004) etc.

Theodora is currently a music teacher at Pierce, The American College of Greece. Between 2003-2007 she presented, along with Sofia Kamayianni, the radio show “21st century: Trends and Experimentations,” at the Greek National Radio 3.
