Benoit Heitz, aka Surkin, was born in France in 1985. He is a musician, producer, DJ and artistic director who became renowned for his electronic music compositions and productions.

He quickly rose to prominence in the new french electronic scene alongside artists as Justice, Kavinsky, SebastiAn, with the Institubes and Ed Banger labels ; and performed as a DJ in clubs and music festivals around the world — such as Coachella, Fuji Rock Festival and Ultra Music Festival. He also produced remixes for Paul Johnson, Chromeo, DJ Mehdi, M.I.A, Juan Maclean, Boys Noize and many others.

In 2011, he launched the independent label Marbl, released his first album "USA" and started a collaboration with M.I.A working on her fourth album "Matangi".

He joined the Bromance label (Brodinski, Gesaffelstein…) and launched the GENER8ION project with a first EP “The New International Sound Part II” with M.I.A. The music video, directed by Inigo Westmeier and produced by Romain Gavras, was shot at Shaolin Tagou Martial Arts School with a synchronized choreography by 36,000 students.

In the meantime, he's at the initiative of several visual magazines (“Unite or Perish”, “Gener8ion”-zineω) of which he signs the artistic direction, inviting designers, musicians or close artists for exclusive collaborations, such as Marie-Amélie Sauvé, Virgil Abloh, Romain Gavras, Julien Dossena and Matthew Williams.

Solicited by the fashion world, he composes and supervises the soundtracks for brands events and shows such as Alyx Studio, Paco Rabanne, Givenchy, Kenzo and Louis Vuitton.
