Pierre Berthet
Pierre Berthet studied percussion with André Van Belle and Georges-Elie Octors at the Brussels Conservatory in the 1980s. In parallel with his studies, he spent a lot of time – over a period of two years – in a bell tower, playing the carillon and listening to the sounds of the environment. By listening to varied music, he rediscovered the natural slope down which he had been sliding from a very young age, namely: hitting, rubbing, shaking, or throwing heterogeneous objects in order to hear the sounds they can emit. In addition, waterdrops falling on various materials have always interested him prodigiously. He has been designing, producing, and exhibiting sound and visual installations since 1990.
