Persefoni Miliou

Persefoni Miliou has been working in the film industry since 2004 as an editor and documentary director, and for the last 15 years she has been almost exclusively dedicated to sound design and mixing. She has participated in films that won awards at major international festivals, such as the Cannes Film Festival (Palme d'Or for “The Distance Between the Sky and Us”, dir. Vasilis Kekatos), the Tribeca Film Festival (Best Film Award for “The Son of Sophia”, dir. Elina Psykou), the San Sebastian Film Festival (Young Directors’ Award for “Park”, dir. Sofia Exarchou), the Berlinale (with entries by directors Konstantina Kotzamani, Elina Psykou, Udita Bhargav, and others), and the Venice Film Festival (with “Third Kind” by Yorgos Zois and “Swan” by Konstantina Kotzamani). In 2016, she was awarded by the Greek Film Academy for the sound in the film “Park” by Sofia Exarchou. She has also directed the documentary series “Mikropoleis” for the Hellenic Broadcasting Corporation (ERT) and the feature-length documentary “Body Matters” with Yannis Gaitanidis. She is currently in the post production phase of her second feature-length documentary titled “Voices”, where the protagonist is the sound.
