Panos Paraschou was born in Larissa, but his family moved to Thessaloniki when he was five years old. Although Panos was born deaf, he began dancing at the age of seven when his sister encouraged him to watch dance music videos. When he was fourteen, he decided to take dance classes and started ballet, contemporary dance, and hip-hop classes at the Arabesque Dance School where he was taught by Tatiana Papadopoulou and Areti Koutsikopoulou. Panos gained his Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) Intermediate with merit in 2014 and began studying at the Department of Educational and Social Policy, University of Macedonia, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in Special Education in 2018. That same year, Panos became the first deaf student to be accepted at the professional dance course of the National School of Dance (KSOT), graduating in 2021. In 2019, Panos performed with Maria Andritsou at a TEDx event at Vassiliko Theater of Thessaloniki in a contemporary choreography by Dimitrios Margaritis. In 2020, he participated in a dance film, directed by Vangelis Papaevangeliou, which was selected and presented online at the 11th Athens Video Dance Project. He has also participated in the musical comedy, “Cupid and Psyche,” at the Roman Odeon of Patras in 2021 (liminal).
