Orestis Athanasopoulos

Orestis Athanasopoulos (b. 1990) is an artist and filmmaker interested in food, cultural transmission and migration. Holding degrees in law and filmmaking, he primarily works on long-term and participatory projects which pay particular attention to the political. His work focuses on informal cultural connections, power dynamics in relation to food infrastructures and the emergence of cοmmunities. He participated in the “CLIMAVORE: Losing Cultures” workshop at Cittadellarte – Fondazione Pistoletto (Italy) and will participate in the upcoming RAW Académie Session 8 at Raw Material Company (Senegal). Originally from Αthens, he has been living and working in Paris since 2014.
Orestis Athanasopoulos is a participant of The School of Infinite Rehearsals of Onassis AiR 2021-22 and of the Tailor-made Fellowships program 2022-23.
