Nikos Dikas

Nikos Dikas, an architect (MSc), lives and works in Thessaloniki. In 2004, he graduated from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki's Department of Architectural Engineering at the top of his class. As an Onassis Foundation scholar, he completed the postgraduate program "Protection, Conservation, and Restoration of Architectural Monuments" at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, focusing on the application of contemporary design to historic buildings.

He has been a freelance architect since 2008, specializing in small-scale private projects. His scientific and creative interests, however, include the Greek city and the urban space of the Mediterranean, the relationship between architecture and the arts, and the transformative power of architectural design at different scales and aspects of life.

He has participated in group exhibitions and architecture and art festivals with distinction. In 2022, he received an honorable mention in the international architectural competition "The Cuban Square" for the redesign of the Plaza de la Revolución in Havana, and a similar distinction in 2004 at the 1st Beijing Architecture Biennale in the "Architecture/Non-architecture" category.

Since 2022, he has served as the coordinator of the Plarchform creative platform, which focuses on architecture, space, and the city. He has been a resident artist at the Gyeonggi Creation Center in South Korea (2011) and the AIR Krems project in Austria (2008). He has presented papers at international and national scientific conferences, lectured as a guest speaker, and published articles on the city and architecture.

He also teaches architectural design. He has taught undergraduate and postgraduate courses in architecture, interior architecture, and interior design. Since 2018, he has been teaching BA (Hons) Interior Architecture composition workshops at AKTO College in partnership with Middlesex University London.

Since 2022, he has served on the Board of Directors of the Onassis Foundation Scholars Association.
