Nikolas Hanakoulas

Nikolas Hanakoulas was born in Athens in 1983. He graduated from the Department of Economics, University of Piraeus. As an actor, he has collaborated with major Greek directors (Lefteris Vogiatzes, Michail Marmarinos, Yannis Houvardas, Vassilis Papavassiliou, Nikos Mastorakis, et al.), Greek institutions (National Theater of Greece, Athens & Epidaurus Festival, Onassis Stegi, Athens Biennale, and more), and international institutions (Théâtre National de Strasbourg, The Ibsen Festival, Frascati).

As a dramaturg, he has contributed to the performances “At This Point on Earth” (2017) – based on Georg Büchner’s “Lenz” – and “Bubble Jam” (2019) for the Onassis Stegi.

In 2016, he was invited to the International Forum of the Berliner Festspiele’s Theatertreffen, as a Goethe-Institut scholar.

In 2018, he participated in the “Semaine de la Critique” (International Critics’ Week) of the Cannes Film Festival, with the film “Third Kind” by Yorgos Zois.
