Monai de Paula Antunes
Monai de Paula Antunes is an artistic researcher interested in complexity and communication together with their material, spatial, and political entanglements. She holds BA, MFA, and MA degrees in Visual Communication and Arts and Media, specializing in Generative Art and Experimental Spatial Systems, all at the Berlin University of the Arts (Universität der Künste Berlin).
She has participated in many collaborative projects developing alternative transdisciplinary models for the articulation, research and display of complex phenomena. She has exhibited at SAVVY Contemporary, transmediale, CTM Festival, European Media Art Festival, Ars Electronica, and others. She is also involved with communication philosophy and archiving, being a research assistant for three years at the Vilém Flusser Archive, where she co-edited the volume “Flusseriana: An Intellectual Toolbox.”
She is the director and founder of Archipel Stations Community Radio, a founding member of Archipel e.V., as well as a diligent member of other NGOs engaged with art, education, communication, philosophy, and ecology. She has lectured at Konstfack – University of Arts, Crafts and Design in Stockholm, Sweden; the Weissensee Kunsthochschule Berlin, and Universität Potsdam in Germany, and offered workshops in different contexts internationally.
