Memi Koupa

Memi Koupa is a screenwriter and director, born and raised in Athens, Greece, where she is currently based. Over the course of many years, she has been directing, writing, and producing experimental short films, short documentaries, video art, TV commercials, and music promos. Her work as visual artist has been showcased in several art group shows.

Since 2016, she has written and directed narrative short films that participate and win distinctions in national and international film festivals.

Her most recent short film, “Creatures of the Night,” has won the National Screenwriting Competition by the Hellenic Ministry of Culture & Sports (COVID-19 Special Programme of Support for the Film Community) and the Greek Film Center’s production fund. Currently in the festival circuit, the film has already won a Screenplay award (SHORT to the Point International Film Festival 2021, Romania) and an Honorary Distinction for Best Sound (Drama International Short Film Festival 2021).

Memi is currently working as writer-director on her first feature, “She Sees,” produced by Blonde Audiovisual Productions and developed with the support of Media Development Fund.
