Maria Liapi

Maria Liapi is a sociologist-researcher, member of the Steering Committee and safeguarding representative of Diotima Centre for research on women’s issues, a non-profit organization aiming to gender rights and equality.

She has taken part in Greek and EU research and other programs for the promotion of gender equality. She coordinates the provision of counseling services to women, men, or LGBTQI survivors of gender-based violence (psychosocial support and legal aid).

Maria Liapi has developed a versatile activity in supporting the rights of excluded social groups through her participation in networks, working groups, conferences, social movements etc. She is an active member of the feminist movement in Greece and, since recently, editorial board member of the e-journal ‘feministiqa.’
