Lucas Evers
Head of Make Programme & Lead Open Wetlab (FabLab, Textile Lab & Open Wetlab)
Lucas Evers
Lucas Evers is Head of Programme of the Make research team at Waag, which includes the Open Design Lab, TextileLab, Open Wetlab and soon the Open Space Lab. He is actively involved in several projects that concern the interactions between the arts and sciences, arts and ethics and the arts in a contemporary makers culture. The Make research group is concerned with the factors and actors that shape the man-made world and that influence the design and engineering of textiles, the way we work with living matter, our relationships with living systems and how observing this may change the way we act as humans among our fellow species. Finding its origin in the FabLab, the Open Design program and Art-Science collaborations, Make's research ranges from material to urban ecologies & earth observation. It experiments with collaborations across disciplines and organisational models. Lucas graduated at Maastricht Institute of Arts and studied political science at Amsterdam University.
