Lotus Eaters

The members of Lotus Eaters met during their undergraduate studies at the School of Drama of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki’s Faculty of Fine Arts. The team was founded on the occasion of the performance “Resetting Homeland,” which was presented at the Mediterranea 18-Young Artists Biennale (Tirana, 2017); the 7th Festival of Young Artists “The 12 Coupes” in Rouf Train (Athens, 2017); the Little Big House (Thessaloniki, 2017); the Thessaloniki Center for Contemporary Art (2018); and the 1st Western Balkans Biennale “BOWB” in co-production with the Regional Municipal Theater of Ioannina (Ioannina, 2018). The second work of Lotus Eaters, in collaboration with The Speakeasies' Swing Band, was “Homesickness Blues” by Kostas Vomvolos, directed by Akillas Karazisis (Athens Festival, 2017; EMS Forest Theater Festival, Mansion House, Thessaly Theater, 2018). The third work of the team was “Buonanotte Bellezza,” which was held as a work in progress at gallery Mikrou, Thessaloniki, in December 2018, and was the first live ASMR performance in Greece. Lotus Eaters participated at the Athens and Epidaurus Festival 2019 with the performance “Amica Mea,” a concept by Marilou Vomvolou, directed by Panos Delinikopoulos, at the Kerameikos archaeological site.
