Larry O’Connor
At age 14, Larry O'Connor began LRO Enterprises, a printer ribbon re-inking business. It later reorganized into LRO Computer Sales and then eventually as Other World Computing (OWC). Today, OWC is one of the most respected developers of Apple product upgrades, data storage, and workflow enhancements. OWC’s products are widely used in photography, live media production, home, and office and are found in and used with millions of computers worldwide. Products are sold under the OWC brand and distributed through MacSales.com, Amazon, and thousands of resellers around the globe.
Larry cares about sustainability and in 2008, his company was named one of the Top 12 Green-IT Companies by Computerworld Magazine for the innovative, environmentally responsible design of OWC’s corporate headquarters. Over the last 30 years, Larry has led OWC and its subsidiaries to add thousands of consumer electronics and computer hardware products to its inventory. His products have even gone to space with artistic creations from ZEDD, Blanco Brown, Brad Paisley, Desmond Child, Dragon Force, Tim McGraw, Wyclef Jean.
Passionate about soil regeneration, Larry sits on the board of the non-profit, Kiss the Ground, where he also helped produce a film to spread the message and concept of regenerative agriculture. It’s about recognizing some of the best technology is also the oldest and most promising as well.
OWC was trusted by the producers and musical directors for the Super Bowl half-time show (with artists like JLO, Shakira, Guns n’ Roses, Nine Inch Nails, and Billy Joel). These industry professionals rely on OWC to ensure their music, work, and creations are safe.
Beyond OWC, product creation, Macs, technology, and the environment, Larry’s other passions include being a film producer, philanthropist, investor, space enthusiast, and more.
