Kostis Kilymis

Kostis Kilymis (b. 1983 Thessaloniki) is engaged with music performances, recordings, and installations. Rooted on music improvisation, he has developed work with a broad approach to sound, space, experience, and memory. Starting from soundscapes and electronic compositions, his work features as well a discreet juxtaposition of elements such as photography, video, text, and sound objects, initiating a dialog about the media functionality and human perception in the contemporary environment.

Kostis has studied Composition and Sound Art at Oxford Brookes University. As a musician, he has worked with Lucio Capece, Leif Elggren, Greg Pope, Stephen Cornford, Nikos Veliotis, Sarah Hughes, among other artists. He has exhibited in Oxford, London, Montpelier, and Athens, while his compositions have been published by various international music labels.
