Katerina Evangelatos

Katerina Evangelatos was born in Athens. A graduate of the Greek National Theatre Drama School, she also studied Philosophy at Athens University and the classical guitar at the Greek Conservatory. She pursued postgraduate studies in Theater Direction at the Russian Academy of Theatre Arts in Moscow and at Middlesex University in the UK on an Onassis Foundation scholarship.

She has directed “Don’t take the Lord’s name in vain: an exercise in imagination”, “Plasteline”, “Wolfgang” and the “Golden Dragon” (at the National Theatre of Greece); “The dead in love”, “The Suicide Club” and “Revenge” (at the Spyros A. Evangelatos AmphiTheatre); “Cock” (at the Theseion Theatre), “The Glass Menagerie” (at the Horn Theatre), and “Illusions”, a performance produced by Lefteris Voyiatzis to mark the thirtieth anniversary of the founding of the Theatre on Kykladon Street (1982-2012). In December 2009, she was awarded the Greek Union of Drama and Music Critics’ Young Artist Award for her direction of “Wolfgang” and the “Suicide Club”. In September 2011, she won the Eleftheria Sapountzi prize for her directorial output in 2009-2011.
