Ivan Vyrypaev

Playwright, director, and producer Ivan Vyrypaev was born in 1974 in Irkutsk, then the USSR. He graduated from the Irkutsk Theatre School and then studied at the Shchukin Theatre Institute in Moscow. Ivan Vyrypaev lives in the Polish capital of Warsaw and is a citizen of the Republic of Poland. His plays are staged all over the world, from South Korea to New York.

As a director, he works and stages performances in theaters in Europe and the United States. Between 2013 and 2016, he was the Artistic Director of the Praktika Theatre in Moscow; in 2020–2021, he was the General Producer of the Okko Theatre online project on the Okko streaming platform; and between 2015 and 2023, he was co-owner and general producer of the private Polish fund WEDA PROJECT. Currently, he is the Artistic Director and General Producer of the Teal House Integral Development Foundation in Warsaw.

Ivan Vyrypaev is also a screenwriter and director of films and performances. He has received many prizes and awards, among others, from the Venice Festival.

The main direction of his activity is the spiritual development of a person with the help of art.
