Iōko Ioannis Kotidis

Iōko Ioannis Kotidis graduated from the Athens Conservatoire Drama School and the Athens School of Fine Arts with honors.

As an artist, he created the video installation “Opus Just for One Person—Part One”; directed the visual poems “Dokidoki *the boy who wanted to fly” and “19:20”; created the personas Imiterasu and Opaterasu; and directed the performances “Parental Advisory,” “Grieving Unplugged,” “30 Years of Failures” (secret date performance), “Note for Beginners,” and “Grieving Spectacle.”

He participated in the projects “Center Back” by Spiros Angelopoulos, “Unlimited Shrimp,” and “Who[’s] is Who[on]” by Michalis Siganidis, among others, and collaborated with Antonis Volanakis and Iosif Vivilakis, while his designs were included in theater programs, etc.

As a cinema actor, he has collaborated with Vasilis Kekatos in the film "The Distance Between Us and the Sky" (Palme d’or du court métrage & Queer Palm 2019; Acting Special Mention in Drama International Film Festival; Best Actor Award in Villeurbanne Short Film Festival) and with Iosif Vardakis in the documentary “AKOE/AMFI: The Story of a Revolution (*just to sleep on their chest)” (Audience Award in Thessaloniki International Documentary Festival 2023).

As a television actor, he has collaborated with Vasilis Kekatos for the series “Milky Way” (Séries Mania Festival 2023).

As a theater actor, he has collaborated with Mihalis Panadis, Thanasis Zeritis, Argyris Xafis, Konstantinos Arvanitakis, Io Voulgaraki, Michail Marmarinos, Martha Frintzila, Tonia Ralli, Nikos Karathanos, Amalia Bennett, and more.

As a set and costume designer, he has collaborated with Argyris Xafis, Artemis Flessa, and Vassilis Mantzoukis, while he has also designed masks for performances by Mihalis Panadis.
