evá papadakis
evá papadakis was born in Crete to a woman named Leventis, which means “an upstanding, fearless man.” Through the practice of “grafting,” he crafts new narratives that open up new perspectives on the world.
His award-winning first poetry collection, "meraklina|kukibiberissa|obladi," continues the work of anthropocentric storytelling that he began as a storyteller at the United Nations (UN), as well as local and international non-governmental organizations (NGOs), focusing on human rights, immigration, and climate change issues.
He has curated and directed a series of live "human banners" as well as a number of human-centered films that focus on the coexistence between refugee and local populations. He recently directed the guided multimedia performance "love in the years of climate."
He has designed and produced festivals and actions in partnership with the International Film Festival of Thessaloniki, MOMus, and TIF, among others. He is currently working on the 1st Multidisciplinary Queer Poetry Festival in Anogia and Anafi. He is a Fulbright Artist Alumnus.
evá papadakis is an Onassis AiR Fellow for 2024/25 through the Dramaturgy Fellowship.
