Elie is an actress, a disabled woman, and a wheelchair user. She was born and raised in Athens. She has not pursued a career related to her initial studies (BA in History & Archaeology, Faculty of Philosophy, University of Athens) since she was fascinated by theater and acting. From an early age she saw theater as a microcosm of the society itself, either of the present times with its structural failures or of an idealized future based on values such as justice, respect, and coexistence. She studied at the THEAMA drama workshop. She is currently member of THEAMA and the Association of Greek Actors. She has also attended seminars on film theory, film acting, and music lessons (theory and modern singing). She has participated in a program of the Panteion University’s Library as a narrator of books for students with visual impairments. She feels faith and pride when she declares herself a servant of Art and believes that the only weapon that could save humanity is love. As she grows older, she feels more at home and that scares her! She also likes vegan recipes! She currently participates in two theater productions: “Spring” by Youla Boudali at the Athens & Epidaurus Festival and “The Trojan Women: Extreme Humiliation” by Vassilis Oikonomou (THEAMA) and Sofia Stavrakaki, now on tour.
