Eirini Basiouka-Polychroniadou

Eirini Basiouka-Polychroniadou is a visual artist, with a strong interest in sculpture and installations. She is mainly concerned with contemporary art and how it reflects social issues. She holds a BFA from the Department of Fine Arts and Art Sciences, University of Ioannina, and a Master’s degree in Applied Developmental Psychology. She has also been trained in museology and museum pedagogy. Her recent research has focused on the relationship between visual arts and psychotherapy, especially regarding children. In particular, she has studied the dynamics of visual art therapy, exploring how art can become an expanded tool of expression and a therapeutic process. She firmly believes in empowering and encouraging children through art. She has participated as an artist in various projects around Greece and has worked in education as an art teacher in the public and private sector.
