Dimitris Theodoropoulos is an Onassis AiR Critical Practices Mentor 2019-20.
Dimitris Theodoropoulos (Corinth, Greece 1979) studied architecture at the National Technical University of Αthens and holds a Master’s degree "Architecture – Spatial Design" from the same university. He was part of nikiou 22 group from 2005 and worked for research programs at NTUA. He is a founding partner of hiboux architecture office in which frame he did set design for Dimitris Papaionannou (Inside, 2011, Still Life, 2014, Primal Matter, 2015), Athina Rachel Tsangari’s CAPSULE installation for destefashioncollection in 2012, NY, et al. He is a founding member of the errands group with whom he has participated in the 7th International Architecture Biennale of São Paulo (2007), 2nd Αthens Biennale (2009), 1st Istanbul Design Biennial, Gardentopia-Matera 2019 European Capital of Culture et al. He was part of the Meta platform for perfoming arts mentoring and research team. He is part of the groups Diolkoi, Construcing Siesta and werkraum, with which they presented the experiential installation “Agathofron, the Collector's Atlas” at the Benaki Museum as part of the Αthens and Epidaurus Festival 2018. He was teaching a design studio at the Department of Architecture of the University of Patras (2015-18) and architectural drawing at the Tinos School of Fine Arts (2017-19). He was invited to be a jury member at the University of Patras, the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki , The University of West Attica (UniWA), Umeå University (Sweden), MAU University (Turkey) and has led several workshops including “Extraterritorial” (2017), “Tragata” (2017), and “Landmarks” (2018, Syros International Film Festival ). His practice is built on collaborations and artistic dialogues resulting in co-authored works.
