Christiana Kosiari
Christiana Kosiari is a professional dancer, dance teacher, and choreographer, born in Athens, Greece. She graduated from the Greek National School of Dance in 2012, the Athens University of Economics and Business in 2008, and the Leonteios School of Nea Smyrni in 2004.
Between 2021 and 2022, she participated in the U(R)TOPIAS Choreography Academy in Elefsina, as part of “Elefsina 2023—European Capital of Culture,” where she presented the dance videos “Bouboulina” and “Bouboulina’s”. In 2022–2023, she was selected to continue in the Academy for a second year and presented “Bouboulines” as a site-specific performance in July 2023. All three works focused on the participation of individuals aged 65 and above.
As a choreographer, she premiered her piece “RUNWAY” as part of Onassis Dance Days 2024 at the Onassis Stegi. In August 2024, the piece was featured in the artist residency program Credixa/Anima Fluo in Bologna. It was subsequently presented at the Under the Radar Festival in New York in January 2025 and at the Moving Balkans platform in Slovenia in May 2025.
In July 2025, she was selected as an artist-in-residence at the Watermill Center, founded by Bob Wilson in the United States, where she worked on her new piece, “UnPhobia.”
She has also presented “Chained” at Arc for Dance Festival 15, Dance Laboratory Rhodes 7, Patras Art Festival 3, and Masdanza Dance Festival 28 (October 2023), where she was awarded second prize by the jury.
She has also choreographed the dance videos “Sink” and “Bouboulina,” which were screened at festivals in Greece and abroad.
As a dancer, she performed in “MA” by Romeo Castellucci and toured with “Lamenta” by the Siamese Dance Co from 2021 to 2023. She has attended numerous workshops in Greece and abroad and has been teaching classical, modern, and contemporary dance to all age groups since 2007.
Christiana Kosiari is an Onassis AiR Fellow for 2025/26 through the Dramaturgy Fellowship.
