Candy Carra

Candy Karra lives and works in Athens. As a performer, she has collaborated with various choreographers and dance troupes, and has participated in festivals in Greece, Cyprus, Germany, the Canaries, and New York – including Athens & Epidaurus Festival, Kalamata Dance Festival, Dancing Athens and New Choreographers Festival by the Onassis Stegi, Stavros Niarchos Foundation’s Summer Nostos Festival, MIR Festival, Athens Video Dance Project, Arc for Dance, Patras International Festival, Thessaloniki’s Dimitria Festival, Dance Days Chania, Akropoditi DanceFest, Kypria International Festival, International Performance Festival pad-Mainz, Folkwang Physical Theatre Festival, Battery Dance Festival ΝΥ, Masdanza International Festival, Masdanza Extensión Tenerife, Figueres es MOU, and more.

She teaches contemporary dance and improvisation, and was the head of a series of dance educational workshops for the children and youth, in collaboration with the Onassis Stegi, the Municipality of Athens, the SOS Children’s Villages, the Cavafy Archive, and the cross-cultural organization Polyphonica, among others. She has also worked as a kinesiologist in theater performances, and has volunteered for the Athens Sunday School for Migrants’ theater group.
