C for Circus
Theater group
The theater group, “C. for Circus”, was created on 2008 in Thessaloniki by Constantinos Conie Isaakides aiming at exploring the theatrical action through actors’ bodies.
In theater group and theater workshop “C. for Circus” we, the actors, search for all the locked actions that are kept in silence and wait to be explored, acknowledged and will help us in putting together our broken pieces. With focusing at our body expressions we try to live truthful situations and feelings. Nothing metaphysical, nothing which is not us.
We talk about our body.
In October 2010 the theater group “C. for Circus” became a non-profit company, co-operating with the theater group “Metaphoriki Theatrou”. The “C. for Circus” company has created its own space, for rehearsals and for performances in the center of Thessaloniki, Syggrou 19 on the 4th floor.
Within the aims of the group is to create theater workshops, which work in the way the group does. Already “C. for Circus” has some workshops having -for fun- names related to circus, like “Clowns”, “Stagewalkers” and “Bears”. The purpose of the “C. for Circus” theater workshops is to create an integrated group, whose members will to try by working hard and playing to free their oppressed bodies and using them in the reative process of theater.
