Ayman Alkalaa

Ayman Alkalaa was born in 1997 in Syria. She finished high school in Aleppo in 2014 and moved to Greece in 2017. Since 2018, he has been a volunteer at the Hellenic Red Cross, teaching Arabic and facilitating children’s activities. In 2019, he started teaching dabke in collaboration with the Musikarama collective in Athens. Once a week, you can find him at Khora Social Kitchen, preparing more than 600 meals a day. His aim is to support and engage with people that are in search of inclusion in safe and healthy environments.

He is a core member of the Syrian Greek Youth Forum (SGYF), a community organization that brings people together from local and international backgrounds, through culture, art, and social contributions. With SGYF, he is working to co-organize several activities and events such as the making of the SGYF Media Lab (in collaboration with Onassis Stegi). He is part of cultural exchange projects such as “The City Talks Back,” At the same time, he is part of the Sport for Athens project, working with the Municipality of Athens for the promotion of sport engagement in everyday life.
