Anastasis Priftis

Anastasis Priftis is a sound artist, a musician and an engineer. He finished his studies in Mechanical Engineering (MEng- University of Bath, UK) in 2017. In 2014-15 taking a break from his studies, he participated in the design & development of control products for aerospace applications. (RR controls and data, Birmingham).

Artistically, he is particularly interested in the relation of sound to motion, aural space and its relations to visual space, repetition and improvisation. Currently working on a number of sound and motion installations as an artist and an engineer, he explores issues of spatial perception, "space creation" and architecture (Romantso, Athens) - always looking to merge his engineering and artistic identities.

He also works with sound & music on film ( "Skopelitis or the ship" short documentary – due 2019). Parallel to that he performs, mostly in improvisation, collaborating with contemporary dancers and visual artists.
