Alkyone
Alkyone, who will turn 31 years old on the day of her performance (!), was born in Edessa, a city in Northern Greece. She is an artist who blends the folk songs of her region (as well as her own contemporary compositions) with a completely idiosyncratic approach to vocal and instrumental arrangements. The result is an ethereal and dreamlike sensibility, evocative of birds singing in a meadow. Alkyone sees music as a catalyst for change, fervently believing in its capacity to shape ideas and influence the world at large.
Alkyone will be accompanied in her performance by two friends: Thodoris Papadimitriou on cello and Sakis Azas on electric guitar. Forty-five-year-old Thodoris was born in Thessaloniki and is a distinguished composer, conductor, cellist, and pianist. He currently teaches film music at the School of Film of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki as an Assistant Professor.

Thirty-eight-year-old Sakis was also born in Thessaloniki and is an equally accomplished musician, grounding his approach to the sounds of the guitar and effect pedals. He has recorded and performed with many Greek artists such as the Sleepin Pillow, Yorgos Dalaras, Pavlos Pavlidis, and Eleftheria Arvanitaki.
