Aliki Tserkezoglou

Dr. Tserkezoglou was trained as an obstetrician-gynecologist but worked exclusively in gynecological oncology at the “Aghios Savvas” Hospital in Athens, Greece (1986–2011). Since 2010, after completing postgraduate studies in Palliative Medicine at Cardiff University in Wales, she serves as Director of the “Galilea” Palliative Care Unit (PCU) of the Holy Metropolis of Mesogaia and Lavreotiki. At the same time, she is Vice President of the 2nd National Committee for Palliative Care, initiated by the Hellenic Ministry of Health. "Galilea" has provided nursing services to in-home patients, a day center, and a shelter since 2010, 2011, and 2018 respectively. She also offers theoretical and practical training courses to health workers and volunteers and works towards raising public awareness on Palliative Care issues.
