Alexis Damianos

Alexis Damianos was born in Athens on January 21, 1921, and studied at the National Theater of Greece Drama School. After working as a theater actor for a while, his first film role was in Pantelis Voulgaris’ short film “The Thief.” After that, he appeared in several films, including Kostas Manousakis’ “The Fear,” Pavlos Tassios’ “Everything Is In Order, But…”, Lakis Papastathis’ “Ton kairo ton Ellinon (In the times of Greeks),” Dimitris Stavrakas’ “Misunderstanding,” Giorgos Korras and Christos Voupouras’ “Mirupafshim,” and Efthimios Hatzis’ “Shores of Twilight.” In 1966, he made his first film, “Cornerstone.” In 1971, he wrote and directed “Evdokia.” After a long absence, he directed his third and last film, “The Charioteer.” He died on May 4, 2006, at the age of 85.
