The Onassis Stegi in “The Stage”

“The ‘New World’ oasis that’s helping Greek artists to flourish.” This is the title of a feature written by Gemma Nettle, journalist and correspondent of the prestigious “The Stage,” in which she describes the Onassis Stegi and the New World that the Onassis Foundation has been dreaming, designing, and implementing since 1975, with Athens at its center.

“In the heart of Athens is a neighbourhood where the old and the new sit side by side. Its name, Neos Kosmos, means ‘New World’ in English, and the area is enjoying something of a renaissance thanks to its growing arts and culture scene. It is home to the Onassis Foundation, a cultural powerhouse thriving in a city full of differing personalities and cultures, which reinvents itself time and again.” The Onassis Stegi was presented in the British publication “The Stage” through an extensive feature highlighting its actions, artists, and the extrovert program of its productions, among them “The House” by Dimitris Karantzas and “Romáland” by Anestis Azas and Prodromos Tsinikoris.

The feature is entitled “Onassis Stegi: The ‘New World’ oasis that’s helping Greek artists to flourish” and was published in “The Stage” on January 10, 2024.
