The Callas are presenting a preview of “Love Solidarity Death (L.S.D.)” at Thermissia in the Peloponnese
An all-day event on June 21, the first official day of summer, with new works, performances, and live music – a first taste of The Callas’ solo exhibition, coming to the Onassis Stegi Exhibition Space in early 2023.

On this year’s summer solstice (June 21), The Callas – Aris and Lakis Ionas – will be transporting us into the universe that is “Love Solidarity Death (L.S.D.)” from twelve noon through twelve midnight at their farm/lab down in the Peloponnese, in a small village named Thermissia on the coast facing Hydra island, by the port town of Ermioni.
Twenty years after The Callas first appeared, “Love Solidarity Death (L.S.D.)” – curated by Nadia Argyropoulou – is here: a “coming of the quantum order” at the Ionas brothers’ farm in Thermissia, on a day dubbed “in anticipation” since it heralds their upcoming exhibition commissioned and produced by Onassis Stegi to be presented inside the Onassis Stegi Exhibition Space -1 in 2023.
With new Callas works, with performances and live music, with food, walks, sea-diving, with connections and reviewing objections, with intra-actions and possible commitments, participants “will gather at the off-center of this summer’s art frenzy, and mess with the material and immaterial aspects of L.S.D.—the radical pedagogies of solidarity, the wasteful kind of love, the fragmented, metamorphic, psychedelia of death. Exo-urban, of the provinces, wildly participatory, symbiotic, agro-economic, largely improvisational, energy-autonomous, the L.S.D. day at The Callas farm will be made up by those who will come together in their own way and at their own risk, those who will join the in/determinacy that (un)makes every topology, every trip and every prediction”.
