On Sunday, May 16 at 23:00, the charismatic Bazooka are coming to STAGES A/LIVE and electrifying the Lab Art stage in Volos. Appearing on the Onassis Channel on YouTube, their rock and post-punk music will have us turning the volume right up. STAGES A/LIVE is ending this year’s concert series with an explosive season finale. One of the most major Greek-language rock bands of recent times, Bazooka are bringing their garage, punk and – above all – rock moments from the Greek underground music scene we’ve so missed to the Onassis Channel on YouTube.
A full thirteen years have passed since Bazooka formed, when two separate bands joined forces, in which time they’ve toured both around Greece and across Europe, performing in Italy, Belgium, France, and the UK. And yet their biggest fans would swear that each and every time they hit the stage or studio, they’re pumped like it’s their first time, or even their last… And this even though they’ve released – in addition to a slew of EPs – three full-length albums: two with Slovenly Recordings in the US, and one with Patras-based Inner Ear Records.
This is Bazooka’s greatest gift: lifting the quintessence of punk rock to its heights with their sound and lyrics. And this is perhaps the most important thing of all – in the wonderful world of rock music and beyond.

STAGES A/LIVE is a series of concerts without audiences but with lots of music, hosted by the Onassis Foundation YouTube Channel. An alternative digital world tour featuring our favorite bands and artists, and everything we’ve experienced with them at legendary past lives held at landmark venues such as Gagarin 205, AN Club, and other music stages in Athens and Thessaloniki.
Until we can all be together again at a live concert, music will be bringing us closer, even though we’re far apart, helping us to relive memories and concerts shared with thousands of people – both friends and strangers – via our screens. Greece’s indie music stages were created to support young artists, and have supported yet more audiences with bands once unknown that went on to become legends, in no small part thanks to their performances at historic concert venues. Fuzzy memories that today spark nostalgia, and a need for these stages to pull through – places where we feel safe and full of energy.
In this difficult time for people working in the arts, the Onassis Foundation is actively supporting these spaces that, due to the pandemic, are close to shutting their doors for good. Stages drained of artists, of technicians, of audiences – and of life.
An “almost magical” concert venue, Lab Art live stage was created in November 2013. It came out of the need of a large Greek city to host cultural events. The industrial building of the old engine room of the Tsalapatas Roof-Tile and Brickworks Factory has hosted artists and bands from the Greek and international music scene, as well as exhibitions, plays and corporate events. Covering all kinds of contemporary artistic expression in the last decades, Lab Art is the most influential concert venue of central Greece, featuring such artists as Tiger Lillies, New Model Army, Monophonics, Growlers, Allah Las, Marky Ramone, Mark Lanegan, Sivert Hoyem, Boogie Belgique, Kovacs, Kadebostany, Souljazz Orchestra, Asian Dub Foundation and Dennis Ferrer. At the same time, tens of celebrated Greek artists have rocked its stone walls, including Giannis Aggelakas, Sokratis Malamas, Pavlos Pavlidis, Thanasis Papakonstantinou, the Last Drive, Planet of Zeus, Tzimis Panousis and Music Brigades, Vodka Juniors, V.I.C., Giannis Haroulis, Foivos Delivorias, Xatzifrageta, Lex, and many more.
