Moby Dick returns

From February 9 at the Christmas Theater

Moby Dick returns to take us on a journey to a place not down on any map. One of the greatest works in world literature has been made into a musical by Dimitris Papadimitriou, and directed by Giannis Kakleas.

Is it a simple fairy tale, or an adventure on the high seas? Herman Melville’s huge white whale is taking to the Christmas Theater stage with 3D graphics and holograms, a live orchestra and choreography. Tickets are on sale now.

This is a show for all the family since the story works on many levels – a breath-taking adventure for children that is also a deeply philosophical text. It’s the story of a captivating, “crazy” captain who convinces his whole crew to follow him on his innermost mission: to conquer his limits, nature and fate, to reach and go beyond God himself.

Giannis Kakleas’ directorial vision brings Dimitris Papadimitriou’s musical to life on the largest and most central stage in the city, with fabulous sets by Manolis Pantelidakis, choreography by Angeliki Trombouki, and costumes by Ilenia Doularidi, all accompanied by spectacular and groundbreaking holograms and 3D animations – the likes of which have never been seen before in Greek theaters – by Evangelos Kouloukithas, working in collaboration with Hashem Alshaer and Stathis Athanassiou. Effects that go far beyond anything you’ve experienced in the theater to date.
