Global Game Jam [Athens] is supported by the Onassis Foundation for the third time

Are you passionate about creating games?

For 48 hours, game developers are teaming up, suggest, create and experiment with games.

The Onassis Foundation supports for the third consecutive year the event “Global Game Jam [Athens],” as part of a larger set of digital development and innovation activities it implements, aiming at the promotion of creative and cultural industries. Through extensive activities, Onassis Culture continues to support the communities of game designers and programmers, not only in the framework of GGJ Αthens, but also through international collaborations, such as the ONX Studio and the New Museum in New York, the European networks in which it partakes, and the public events, workshops, and hackathons.

For 48 hours, game developers across the world are called to gather in organized spaces (Jam Sites) and develop different sorts of games (video games, board games, educational games), fostering innovation, experimentation, and collaboration, and responding to a common theme that will be appointed by the central organizational team in California, on Friday, January 31, 2020. All the games produced will be published on the official website of Global Game Jam, where they can be accessible to everyone. Global Game Jam is addressed to all individuals that are passionate with creating games, regardless of their experience or technical knowledge. Holding this kind of events has led to the emergence of numerous innovative ideas and games that have become popular among the members of the game dev community.

Global Game Jam [Athens] 2020 is an international event by Gifted Hellas ΑΜΚΕ and ViRA (Virtual Reality Applications), supported by Onassis Foundation. This year, it was conducted for the 8th time from January 31 until February 2, at Serafeio (Peireos Str. & P. Ralli, Athens).
