Take the first step and get ready for the big leap. Enroll now at the Academy of Antetokounmpo brothers.

Are you aged 10 – 16, from an Athenian neighborhood, wishing to develop your talent and engage in a sport you love but never had the opportunity? Or are you aged 18 – 25, wishing to engage in coaching, to feel the team spirit, and to gain experiences for a new chapter in your life?

The vision for AntetokounBros Academy is a pro bono program in Athens, Greece, which combines sport skills and life skills, to unlock development opportunities for 100 kids each year. The program is part of CAFF Foundation vision that opportunity fuels potential, created by Giannis, Thanasis, Kostas, and Alex Antetokounmpo, in partnership with Nike and Onassis Foundation. Through weekly basketball trainings, workshops, speeches, and scholarships, the program aims to give opportunities to young people who will benefit from it the most.

The AntetokounBros Academy is executed in partnership with Nike, who focus on play to help all kids achieve their full potential because an active next generation means a more equitable and better future, the Onassis Foundation, who curate and run the educational life skills curriculum, and Eurohoops Organization who run the basketball trainings and overall implementation of the program.

For yet another season, head coach of the Academy is Evina Maltsi, a legendary figure in basketball who has made history with her achievements, track record, and sporting ethos.

The AntetokounBros Academy program includes twice-weekly basketball training sessions held at sporting facilities in the Sepolia and Ampelokipi neighborhoods refurbished by Nike, with the support of the City of Athens’ Organization of Culture, Sports and Youth (OPANDA), Division of Social Solidarity, Greek Fund for European Aid to the Most Deprived and Migrant Integration Center. The program goes beyond the base and sidelines of the basketball court thanks to a series of workshops held at Onassis Stegi. Experiential workshops, theoretical game analyses by the Eurohoops coaching team, and inspirational speeches, given by distinguished professionals drawn from various sectors as well as great athletes, all seek to develop the skill sets of the participants and inspire them to achieve their dreams. The participants and trainee coaches will also have the chance to win sports and educational scholarships with great development prospects. There are six year-long training scholarships, sponsored by Nike, at academies in Athens. At the same time, the AntetokounBros Academy graduate with the best track record in Panhellenic exams will be awarded a “One of a Kind” university scholarship by the Onassis Foundation. Moreover, a junior coach will be selected to receive further training, sponsored by Nike, getting the chance to work as a coach.

The journey doesn’t end on the basketball court. AntetokounBros Academy has created a community, where everyone can compete as equals and learn through training. Origins, social environment, and personal experiences belong to the past as part of our identity – these are the strong roots. Dedication to the goal, education, and the leap of faith belong to the future – these are the wings. Through the AntetokounBros Academy, Giannis Antetokounmpo, two times NBA MVP, along with his family, offer young people from underserved communities the opportunity to take leaps that the brothers themselves didn’t have the chance to take in their age.

They also offer a mirror for everyone to see a better version of themselves. Education in sports means to participate in shared experiences, values, emotions, and dreams. It means the unique moment where one plays and all win, where all strive so that one succeeds. The aim of the Academy’s program is to instill young people with the values that raised the Antetokounmpo family at the very top as role models. And to show a way of making your dreams come true by changing the course of your life, while still being yourself.

Application process for new applicants will be open from November 14 till December 4. Athletes and coaches can apply only online through the website www.antetokounbrosacademy.net
