From "Classical Memories in Modern Greek Art" (2000) to the exhibition about "Dion" (2016) and "A World of Emotions" (which was awarded the public's award at the Global Fine Arts Awards, 2017), the Onassis Cultural Center New York promotes Greek history and culture bringing out a long journey from ancient times to this day. Through its actions, that spread from humanities to visual arts, a dialogue takes place among researchers, academics, thinkers, artists from Greece and the USA. Over the past years, the annual Arts and Ideas Festival explores the legacy of classical tradition to today's art through commissions to contemporary artists.
