Philosophy / Ethics

Anna Milioni is a PhD candidate of Philosophy at the University of King’s College London, with a research subject in the political philosophy of immigration. She is a graduate of the Athens School of Law and holds two Master’s degrees in the Philosophy of Law (Athens School of Law) and Political Philosophy and Ethics (KU Leuven, with a scholarship from the Onassis Foundation). She is a founding member of “The Pamphlet”, a new, non-academic international journal that aims at the dissemination of philosophy through the examination of current issues under a philosophical perspective.

Apart from Anna Milioni, the team of “The Pamphlet” consists of five other young philosophers. Their objective is to make philosophical contemplation a vital part of the everyday, through a weekly publication of up-to-date and accessible articles that will contribute to the development of a philosophical perspective on the world.

At the same time, the magazine wishes to interact with its audience, initiating an online conversation and offering its readers the opportunity to participate through a forum and other social media. Moreover, it aspires to publish interviews with philosophers that operate in fields outside the strict academic environment, to collaborate with artists, and to host events on the role of philosophy in the current society. The main idea behind the creation of the journal is that philosophy does not need to be abstruse and limited in the academic field, nor catering to a special elite. Drawing material from a variety of sources, ranging from ancient philosophy to contemporary philosophical analyses, the journal’s editorial team holds that everyone should have the opportunity to benefit from the rich philosophical legacy.

Through the production of up-to-date and comprehensive material, “The Pamphlet” instigates a place of vivid philosophical discourse that offers all the tools for the achievement of independent thinking.

Philosophy can help people find their way in everyday life. This is the commitment of “The Pamphlet” journal.
