“Heartscore – A happy heart is all that matters”
Α health awareness campaign with the support of the Onassis Foundation

On the occasion of the World Heart Day, on September 29th, the Onassis Cardiac Surgery Center is organizing “Heartscore – A happy heart is all that matters”. For one week, in central municipalities of Attica, the OCSC mobile unit will be stationed at central points and will welcome visitors aged 35 to 65 years old for a preventive cardiovascular risk assessment.

Heartscore: a life score

As part of the celebrations for its 30 years of operation and services to Greek patients, the Onassis Cardiac Surgery Center is organizing an awareness and prevention campaign titled “Heartscore - A happy heart is all that matters”, because a check-up is the best prevention method. This initiative allows to those who want it, to get an assessment of their risk to develop a cardiovascular disease. This action aims at attracting as many visitors as possible and is centered around the protection and improvement of health.

It involves four steps:

  • A short medical history of the visitor is taken by specialized nurses of the Onassis Cardiac Surgery Center.
  • Then, their blood pressure and cholesterol are measured.
  • The cardiovascular risk is calculated using a program developed by the European Society of Cardiology.
  • The visit is concluded with a nursing consultation on how to modify risk factors, depending on the test results.
The “Heartscore - A happy heart is all that matters” campaign will take place from September 29th to October 5th, from 10:00-15:00, in six municipalities in Attica: Athens, Aigaleo, Glyfada, Kallithea, Kifissia and Piraeus.
